Friends of the UCI Ecological Preserve

Our Mission:

Recently founded (2019), Friends of the Ecological Preserve is an informal association of community members with a commitment to the sustainability of the UCI Ecological Preserve through public engagement, education, fundraising, stewardship, advocacy, and leadership. The Executive Committee of the Ecological Preserve coordinates and works with the Friends of the Ecological Preserve towards meeting Preserve goals. The Executive Committee is composed of UCI-Nature staff and committed members of the community.

Our Vision:

Through involvement by friends, staff, and partners, the Ecological Preserve will be a place where the land’s native ecosystem and species thrive, while being appreciated and benefited by educational outreach, research, and respectful and compatible recreation. The Friends of the Ecological Preserve will engage in and facilitate meaningful connections and responsible management between our society and the natural heritage of Ecological Preserve.
